Are you a diehard Georgetown Hoyas Basketball fan? Do you need your regular fix of Georgetown-related news to tide you over in these long summer days? Of course you are! You’re reading this.
Well, the Finger WAG has you covered with some delicious PEACHES to sink your teeth into.
It’s that time of year when the days are long, the sun is hot, and the gyms are freezing. Nike EYBL’s annual signature event, Peach Jam, is getting underway in South Carolina. The best of the best (on the Nike EYBL AAU circuit) descend on North Augusta to showcase their skills for college coaches.
Georgetown has had a love/hate relationship with the Peach Jam showcase in recent years (shoutout RJ Davis playing his way into our hearts and then breaking them by picking UNC over Georgetown – a wrong that we will right this season).
This year, Georgetown has more than an eye on a couple of big names at Peach Jam. And if you didn’t already know, you do now, you can watch along! Stop denying the degenerate you are, and shamelessly watch to get irrationally excited about the next maybe Hoya!
You can watch all the action from Peach Jam here: https://nikeeyb.com/livestream-peachjam
(pro-tip, note the court number from the schedule to make sure you pick the proper feed)
We’ve got a guide for the top prospects at Peach Jam that you should be watching. Guys we’re heavily recruiting or have a strong connection to. We’re focusing on the 2026 class, so just the EYBL circuit. We would fully expect the staff to have a presence at Peach Jam, though we have no news to confirm there, but as we get information about guys the staff may be focusing on, we will add them to the list.
Jordan Smith Jr.
Team Takeover (#23)
#2 Player in 2026 Class
6’2 Combo Guard
Paul VI Catholic
Fairfax, VA
This is the guy. And you all know him well by now. It’s been no secret that Georgetown has prioritized Jordan Smith Jr. A local kid (Fairfax, VA), who is poised to be the next big DMV hoops star. He’s a five-star, consensus top 5 prospect who is fresh off a strong campaign with the US U19 national team at the FIBA World Cup.
He plays for Team Takeover, Georgetown’s local AAU program, and the connection to Smith seems strong. Georgetown has been pursuing him for a while, and even without former Takeover coach Kenny Johnson on the Hoyas’ bench, he still appears to be considering Georgetown. If they land him, he would be the highest-rated recruit since at least Greg Monroe. All of the big blue bloody names are on Smith. Georgetown remains firmly in the mix, per a pre-Peach Jam report from Adam Zagoria: Five-star guard Jordan Smith Jr. looking to win Peach Jam, updates recruitment
Georgetown: “It’s really good. I love [Ed] Cooley. He was there in Switzerland. My parents hung out with him a lot. It was just good to see him there and really support me. He said he was staying until we won the gold medal, which he did. So it’s really good. He lets his guards rock out. That’s what he told me he was going to do, and I saw that a lot too.”
We’ll be watching Jordan closely over the next few days and will have updates here as available.
Qayden Samuels
Team Takeover (#10)
#18 Player in 2026 Class
6’5 Small Forward
Bishop McNamara
District Heights, MD
Qayden is the second local 5-star that Georgetown is heavily involved in on Team Takeover. Qayden’s recruitment has been a little quieter than his teammate, Jordan Smith, but he would be another extremely high-rated addition for Georgetown if they could land him. He is a consensus top-20 recruit who can flat-out score.
His list is another parade of blue bloods. He has recently had some positive words for several programs, including Georgetown. He mentioned Louisville, UConn, Rutgers, Maryland and Villanova, along with the Hoya,s as teams he hears from most. He did have a great quote about Georgetown to Adam Zagoria.
It’s not clear whether he and Jordan Smith are interested in playing together at the next level (I doubt it’s a determining factor for them), but Georgetown is not the only school that has prioritized them both, and they seem at least open to it.
Georgetown: “I love Georgetown. Georgetown is always showing love. They invite me to everything. I’m at every game front, courtside. It’s amazing. I love Georgetown. I love Ed Cooley. He’s himself, and I feel like if I have a coach like that who can be himself around me and trust me, I’ll be good.”
A Samuels/Smith recruiting class would be an all-timer from Georgetown, and not a bad balance of talents to boot. Qayden, a cold-blooded scorer, and Jordan, a standout, do-it-all, hard-nosed guard, will fit together nicely. We strongly encourage watching them together at Peach Jam and dreaming wildly of the possibilities of them both in the Blue and Gray.
Luca Foster
Team Final (#0)
#37 Player in 2026 Class
6’5 Small Forward
Link Academy
Branson, MO
Georgetown has appeared late in the chase for the talented four-star wing, but he was recently on campus for an unofficial visit. Foster will spend his senior year at the National prep program, Link Academy, but is playing his summer AAU ball with Thomas Sorber’s former program, Team Final, out of Philadelphia. He is originally from Philly.
Foster is a consensus top 50 four-star that has a mix of local Philly schools and other high majors on his list, including Villanova, Penn St., Pitt, and Michigan.
It appears that Georgetown has gotten involved relatively recently, but we are all for another talented Philly kid making his way to the Hilltop. He’s worth adding to your Peach Jam dance card.
Maximo Adams
Team Vegas Elite (#5)
#41 Player in 2026 Class
6’6 Small Forward
Sierra Canyon
Chatsworth, CA
Maximo Adams, who goes by Maxi, but should really be Maximos Decimus Adamsius in our humble opinion, is a bit of an unknown (at least to us). His recruiting has picked up significantly recently, and he popped up in a recent 247 recruiting rundown: https://x.com/yaboynyp/status/1939713747507106197
Coach LaDontae Henton appears to be the primary recruiter. He’s another long, top-50 small forward (sensing a trend?). We don’t know much about his game, which is all the more reason to tune into his Peach Jam run. He’ll be suiting up for Vegas Elite, despite being a California kid. He’s receiving interest from several West Coast schools, including USC and Oregon, as well as our bitter and bemoaned rival, Illinois.
