The Finger WAG is officially back home in the DMV after a whirlwind at the 2025 GLOBL JAM tournament in Toronto. Your Georgetown Hoyas performed admirably, taking home the silver as they just lost out to an excellent Brazil squad.

We had an excellent time north of the border, bringing you all the behind-the-scenes and on-court coverage, but we are certainly happy to be home in the DMV. In fact, the DMV connection on this Georgetown Hoyas squad was a theme throughout the tournament.

Georgetown’s game one starting lineup at the tournament featured four DMV-born and bred talents: Malik Mack (St. Johns College), Caleb Williams (Sidwell), DeShawn Harris-Smith (PVI), and Isaiah Abraham (PVI). All four played with the seminal Team Takeover AAU program. Takeover is one of the preeminent AAU programs in the country, and Georgetown has desperately needed to rebuild strong relationships with this star factory for over the past half-decade (at least). It was refreshing to hear the comments of DeShawn and Malik at GLOBL Jam, as they talked about not only representing their country, but also the DMV – arguably the greatest incubator of basketball talent in the nation.

While we at the Finger WAG are indeed biased, we believe that basketball in the DMV is best represented when Georgetown is leading the charge. That is in part why we are thrilled to announce that THE Finger WAG podcast will be joining the Department of Hoops Network.

Starting now, you will be able to find our Finger WAG podcast on the Department of Hoops YouTube page.

As a listener and viewer, very little, if anything, will change for you. Our weekly podcasts will still be available wherever you prefer to listen. And we’ll continue to share the video podcasts from our social and have them posted on the site. To our 81 (as of writing this) OG YouTube subscribers, we cannot thank you enough for getting on board the Finger WAGon early. We hope you’ll subscribe to our pod on the Department of Hoops account and tune into our content there.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to join the Department of Hoops network, with excellent coverage of college and pro hoops in the DMV. Featuring daily coverage on Maryland and George Washington Basketball, as well as general DMV hoops and the Wizards – including shows with our very own (and former Wizard), Jahiiiiiidiiii WHite, we feel right at home.

We look forward to collaborating with the other Department of Hoops shows. To growing the profile and prestige of DMV basketball coverage. And, yes, to covering Georgetown’s return to the top of the DMV basketball mountain in every way.

Plainly, Georgetown basketball is DMV basketball; one simply cannot exist without the other. And as Georgetown welcomes the new faces of DMV basketball to Hoya immortality, we are eager to help build not only the #brand that is Georgetown Basketball, but DMV basketball as a whole.

We’re looking for your feedback as we open a new chapter of DMV and Hoya hoops. Drop your questions, comments and ideas here to help us bring you the best coverage of the best program in the best hoops landscape in the world.
